Job Summary

Skyhawk Transport Services Ltd. is seeking a skilled Truck Driver - Logistics Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently across various locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation and Logistics
    • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety protocols.
    • Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.
    • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all aspects of vehicle maintenance and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Documentation and Administration
    • Manage and maintain accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
    • Prepare and submit necessary documentation, including bills of lading and driver logbooks, to ensure seamless transportation operations.
  • Safety and Security
    • Ensure the safety and security of cargo, adhering to company policies and industry standards.
    • Perform emergency roadside repairs and take necessary precautions to prevent accidents.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment
    • Work in a physically demanding environment, handling heavy loads and working in various weather conditions.
    • Meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs), and working in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Hold a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • Will train on company-specific procedures and equipment.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
    • Flexibility, reliability, and strong teamwork skills.
Working Conditions

Work in a fast-paced environment, with a large workload and physically demanding tasks. Work 40 to 60 hours per week, with a permanent work term.
