We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Loan Review Specialist to join our team at Neo Financial. As a key member of our Quality Assurance team, you will be responsible for reviewing the quality of residential mortgage files prior to funding.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough reviews of mortgage files to ensure compliance with underwriting standards and guidelines.
- Perform pre-funding reviews/audits of files and provide approval for funding, or provide observations or findings to the Underwriters.
- Address and oversee the correction of any errors or discrepancies.
- Ensure timely funding of files while maintaining high service levels and priorities.
- Provide collaborative feedback to the Underwriting team regarding interpretation of guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Recommend best practices on Strategic Initiatives and Quality Control to improve internal processes and procedures.
- Assist in preparing reports for management.
- 2+ years of residential underwriting and/or audit or Quality Control/Quality Assurance and/or Loan review experience in the Canadian residential mortgage industry.
- Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment and perform well in a high volume, high intensity environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to proactively identify risks and recommend solutions.
- Strong team player with resourceful and proactive self-starter skills, able to manage multiple priorities and concurrent deadlines.
- Clear understanding of Canadian Mortgage Lending regulations.
- Clear understanding of Federally Regulated Mortgage Insurers (FRMI) requirements and guidelines.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Proven ability to foster relationships and negotiate effectively with intermediaries.
- Ability to understand financial statements and assess financial viability.
- Self-driven and motivated, with ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail/accuracy.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a business-related field is an asset.
