Licensed Practical Nurse

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Alberta Health Services, you will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will be part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients in a medical clinic and long-term care setting
- Assist physicians in the day-to-day operation of the clinic
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Conduct urinalysis and urine HCG tests
- Collect patient weight and height
- Assist with RAIs, care planning, assessments, IDT meetings and patient care in LTC
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Computer skills
- Good interpersonal skills and communication skills with members of the public, residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Willingness to learn new systems including Connect Care and scheduling/registration
- Excellent attendance record
- Experience within LTC is preferred
- Knowledge of the CCHSS is preferred
