Health Association Nova Scotia is partnering with the Department of Seniors and Long-term Care to provide recruitment support to continuing care employers in Nova Scotia. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in the healthcare team, working collaboratively with the Registered Nurse to provide resident care functions within the scope of practice, code of ethics, and governing legislation. As an LPN, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of your clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting clients with various personal care activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Using lifts and slings to transfer patients with a movement disorder, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Administering medication as prescribed by a healthcare professional
- Providing nighttime monitoring and assistance to clients who require it
- Performing light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, washing dishes, and cleaning surfaces
- Preparing blenderized feeds for clients who require this type of nutrition
- Accompanying clients on outings in the community and facilitating community inclusion activities
Core Requirements:
- Current licensure (or eligibility for licensure) with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses
