Job Summary

The City of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team in the Environmental Engineering Projects department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing projects related to environmental engineering, including planning, design, construction, and rehabilitation of facilities and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
  • Develop and implement project plans, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including technical staff, consultants, and contractors
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines
  • Prepare and review project reports, proposals, and other documentation
  • Perform site inspections and accept/reject contractors' work
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers
Requirements
  • 4-year university degree in Engineering or Applied Science, specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering disciplines
  • Minimum 5 years of related and progressively responsible experience in municipal engineering, including project management and construction experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is desirable
  • Strong knowledge of planning, design, and construction methods and practices, as well as relevant federal, provincial, and municipal legislation and regulations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
