Financial Planning Specialist

About the Role
The Financial Analyst position at Simon Fraser University is a key business partner that provides advice, consultation, and assistance to senior managers, staff, and other key stakeholders in support of financial and budget planning, internal and external reporting, and general accounting decision-making.
This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a relevant discipline, and a professional accounting designation, such as CPA, along with four years of related experience, including experience in financial management.
The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of Excel for financial modeling, analysis, and reporting, as well as excellent organizational, quantitative, analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide financial analysis and budget planning support to senior managers and staff.
- Develop and maintain financial models and reports to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address financial issues and opportunities.
- Stay up-to-date with financial regulations and best practices.
