Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Systems Specialist to join our Automation team in Fort St. John or Grande Prairie. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automation, a passion for innovation, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain SCADA, PLC, and HMI systems for various projects, including maintenance and new construction facilities.
  • Develop and apply PLC logic and automation networks to optimize system performance.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for clients, as well as hands-on development for construction-based projects.
  • Prepare devices and I/O lists, and provide commissioning assistance.

Requirements:

  • Journeyman Instrument Mechanic/Electrician with extensive automation experience.
  • 5-10 years of experience with Delta V and/or Allen Bradley Control Systems. Previous experience with VTScada, Rockwell Automation, Emerson Automation, Industrial Networks, and SCADA is highly valued.
  • Post-secondary diploma in Instrument Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automated System Engineering Technology, or a degree in Electrical Engineering (EIT or P.Eng) is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff and clients.
  • Ability to mentor junior colleagues.
  • Familiarity with IT SCADA architectural standards.
  • Highly proficient in Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows Server 8.
  • Demonstrated organizational and documentation skills.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • An analytical thinker with a logical thought process.
