As a key member of the healthcare team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership in team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients, clients, and communities through health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, support, and rehabilitation.
About YouWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Dietitian who possesses a strong background in clinical nutrition and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition, a Dietetic Internship Program, and current registration with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association. A minimum of one year of working experience as a Dietitian is preferred, with inpatient clinical nutrition experience being an asset.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert nutrition advice and support to patients, families, and communities
- Lead team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients, clients, and communities
- Participate in the Integrated Dietetic Internship program, including preceptoring Dietetic Interns
- Collaborate with healthcare team providers to ensure quality and continuity of care
- Support a range of healthcare services within a holistic, client-centered framework
- Bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition
- Dietetic Internship Program
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association
- Minimum one year of working experience as a Dietitian (preferred)
- Inpatient clinical nutrition experience (asset)
- Competency in dysphagia management, enteral, and parenteral nutrition
- Experience counseling patients in an outpatient setting
- Current WHMIS (asset)
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and work under pressure
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
The Nova Scotia Health Authority offers a competitive salary of $42.58 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan.
