Job Summary

The YMCA of Northern Alberta is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child Minding Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional supervision and planning of all child-minding programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the supervisor in recruiting, training, and coaching staff and volunteers.
  • Ensure staff and volunteers understand and follow the YMCA's standards.
  • Manage staff and volunteer scheduling.
  • Address member complaints and issues in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Role model recruitment and retention of staff and volunteers, and work collaboratively to achieve recruitment goals.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and members, and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the operations of all programs and services.
  • Supervise participants and instructors, and ensure instructors' performance aligns with job duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure program schedules offer a variety of options and times, and follow procedures for cancellations.
  • Adhere to OH&S standards.
Qualifications and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Early childhood development or related experience is an asset.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Certifications: Standard First Aid & CPR-C.
  • Able to obtain a Police Information Check and Vulnerable sector check.
