Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Healthcare Supply Chain Manager to join our team at Bayshore HealthCare. As a key member of our Integrated Care Solutions division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the procurement and management of healthcare equipment and supplies meet the highest standards.

This is a full-time, in-person position based in Ottawa, reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager and indirectly to the Area Director. You will work closely with our ICS Purchasing Manager to develop inventory management processes that drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities
  • Action purchase requisitions through sourcing and purchasing quality healthcare equipment & supplies that meet business needs.
  • Ensure timely delivery of quality products at competitive prices.
  • Follow up on orders with hospital partners and vendors, expedite deliveries as needed, communicate substitutions, and obtain sign-off from clinical teams.
  • Oversee and support the onsite receiver to ensure correct cataloging, receiving, and stocking of items.
  • Analyze market and healthcare trends to inform insightful buying decisions.
  • Develop and implement strategies for creating efficiencies and cost savings throughout the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams, purchasing team, and vendors to maintain optimal inventory levels through accurate forecasting, vendor-managed safety stock, timely ordering, and inventory visibility tracking.
  • Work with Clinical Managers to develop and maintain appropriate ordering, receiving, and auditing practices.
  • Implement various inventory management strategies, including EOQ, min/max, kanban bin quantities, and more.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and negotiate competitive rates with vendors.
  • Foster strong relationships with vendors built on continuous improvement.
  • Create and monitor supplier performance indicators to assess their ability to meet quality, delivery, and cost requirements.
  • Manage contracted vendors for short-term needs such as furniture assembly, equipment repairs, and more.
  • Work with vendors to ensure preventative maintenance of equipment.
  • Collaborate with the onsite environmental and food services vendor.
  • Manage ownership of equipment and supplies purchased by hospital partners through asset tagging and auditing.
  • Facilitate rental agreements and asset tracking of medical equipment.
  • Monitor overall spending to identify trends and adjust inventory accordingly.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in purchasing, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Relevant working experience in a healthcare setting is an asset, with clinical understanding of healthcare supplies and equipment.
  • Knowledge of IPAC requirements for healthcare equipment and supply purchasing.
  • Expert knowledge of supply chain management activities, including category management, strategic sourcing, contract management, order management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of basic quality improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, including IMS-ERP systems.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time, in-person position requiring travel across Canada and Ontario. You must be able to adapt quickly to changes in priorities and manage stakeholders effectively.

Salary Range

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
