We are seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapist II to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide supervision of students and team members as assigned
- Work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing leadership to other healthcare professionals
- Make day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up
- Advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient, and effective client care
- Ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and AHS policy and guidelines
- Coordinate the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitor care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits, and providing follow-up and feedback to staff
- Participate in program development and operational planning and represent the department on committees or programs
- Make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers
- Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience
- Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (healthcare provider level) from the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
As a Physiotherapist II at Alberta Health Services, you will have access to a list of experienced clinicians across the province and be able to tap into this resource via email, phone, and virtual meetings. You will also be able to share patient information in real-time with these senior clinicians to assist you in providing high-quality care.
