Job Title: Construction Labourer and Helper

Magnolia Fine Homes Ltd. is seeking a skilled Construction Labourer and Helper to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for assisting in various aspects of construction, including loading and unloading materials, reading blueprints, and performing routine maintenance work.

Work Environment

As a Construction Labourer and Helper, you will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. You will be required to work outdoors, at heights, and in noisy conditions. You must be physically demanding and able to handle heavy loads.

Responsibilities
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
  • Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Assist in demolishing buildings
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials
  • Perform routine maintenance work
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 5 years or more of experience
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
  • Working at heights training
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
