Job Title: Construction Labourer and Helper

We are seeking a skilled Construction Labourer and Helper to join our team at Magnolia Fine Homes Ltd. as a key member of our construction crew.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting our construction team with various tasks, including loading and unloading materials, reading blueprints, and performing routine maintenance work. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
  • Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Assist in demolishing buildings
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials
  • Perform routine maintenance work
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in the field
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
  • Working at heights training
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
