Job Title: Construction Labourer and Helper

We are seeking a skilled Construction Labourer and Helper to join our team at Magnolia Fine Homes Ltd. as a key member of our construction crew.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in various construction tasks, including loading and unloading materials, reading blueprints, and performing manual labour duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
  • Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Assist in demolishing buildings
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials
  • Perform routine maintenance work
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 5 years or more of experience in construction
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
  • Working at heights training
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
