Job Description

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the City of Windsor as a Senior Financial Manager in our Financial Services department.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced financial professional to lead the development and implementation of our capital asset accounting requirements. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) standards and developing methodologies to inventory and value capital assets.

You will also oversee the ongoing maintenance of our capital asset database and financial sub-ledgers to ensure accurate financial reporting. Additionally, you will work closely with the Financial and Information Technology Teams to research, select, test, and implement new capital asset modules and accompanying subsystems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement PSAB compliant capital asset accounting requirements
  • Research and develop methodologies to inventory and value capital assets
  • Oversee the maintenance of the capital asset database and financial sub-ledgers
  • Work with the Financial and Information Technology Teams to implement new capital asset modules and subsystems
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including Asset Planning and other corporate teams
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field, with a major in accounting
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in a business/accounting-related environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Professional accounting designation, such as CPA/CA, CPA/CGA, CPA/CMA
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to travel to off-site locations as required
Salary Range

$80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
