The Manager, Children's Services will play a key role in managing the effective and efficient administration and delivery of the Children's Services program within the City and County of Peterborough.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will lead and oversee the planning, delivery, and evaluation of a wide range of programs and operational policies and procedures to support existing and new initiatives and services. This includes managing cross-functional teams, developing and implementing new programs and strategic change initiatives, business processes and standards to support the work of the Division and the Children Services program.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the effective and efficient administration and delivery of the Children's Services program
- Lead and oversee the planning, delivery, and evaluation of programs and operational policies and procedures
- Manage cross-functional teams and develop and implement new programs and strategic change initiatives
- Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, standards, and various service and operating agreements
- Design and lead stakeholder consultations to inform service planning and implementation of programs and services
- Coordinate, monitor, and approve purchase of service agreements and lead request for proposal processes
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 year University Degree in Social Sciences and a minimum of 7 years related social services management experience. Experience working in the child care and early years sector and comprehensive knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act is ideal. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership, management, and team building skills, as well as excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, project management, planning, financial management/budgeting and forecasting skills.
