Job Summary:

The School District #48 (Sea to Sky) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Education Support Specialist to join our team. As an Education Support Specialist, you will provide assistance to students with physical disabilities, chronic health impairments, intellectual disabilities, and/or social, emotional, and behavioral problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Principal(s) and the general supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s), provide support to students with diverse needs.
  • Support the achievement of stated program goals and objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Provide assistance with daily living skills, mobility, and communication.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year's related experience.
  • A special program would be the Capilano University Education Assistant Program.
  • Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of basic First Aid.
  • Basic knowledge of related learning tools (ie. computers, etc).
