About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Manager, Disability and Wellness Solutions. This is a key leadership role that will play a critical part in shaping the future of our disability and wellness services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of case managers and provide guidance and support on complex cases, ensuring that workloads are managed effectively and in line with service standards.
  • Develop and implement measures to ensure that the team is managing cases efficiently and effectively, and that employees with disabilities are supported in their recovery and return to work.
  • Assist in resolving issues related to disability claims and appeals, as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to ensure their satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with key clients, to understand their needs and identify new business opportunities, service delivery options, or best practices.
  • Attend client meetings to discuss process improvements and trends in disability management.
  • Work with the leadership team on special projects, as needed.
  • Contribute to the development and support of new business opportunities.
  • Examine data and costs related to disability and adopt an analytical approach to identify opportunities for improvement in claims management.
  • Work with report analysts to provide regular dashboards and reports to clients, including recommendations for improving best practices in managing data trends.
  • Assist benefits counselors in ensuring that disability and wellness offers are clearly presented to clients.
  • Work with internal audit and training to ensure that case managers provide high-quality service and receive ongoing training on best practices in disability management.
  • Contribute to the overall promotion and integration of wellness initiatives to help clients create a healthier work environment.
Requirements
  • Fluency in English and French, both written and spoken, is required as we have clients across Canada.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in disability management.
  • Previous experience in leadership and management of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to motivate and engage remote staff.
  • A university degree or post-secondary education in a health-related field is an asset.
  • Professional certification in disability management is an asset.
  • Experience in integrating different disability systems and operational processes.
  • Ability to resolve problems and make decisions.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret results and report back.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment standards, CSPAAT/CSST, human rights, collective bargaining, and labor relations as they relate to disability management.
  • Personal motivation and efficiency in self-directed learning.
  • Experience in employee wellness or HR practices is an asset.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to present to groups of internal and external clients.
  • Proficiency in various software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of contracts and principles of group insurance.
  • Ability to lead teams during change management and periods of turbulence.
  • Collaborative and inclusive leadership style with the ability to support the growth of all staff.
