At Odgers Berndtson, we are proud to partner with Food, Health & Consumer Products Canada (FHCP) in their search for a Director of Sustainability. This strategic role plays a pivotal part in shaping the organization's proactive work with governments to create public policy and industry actions that benefit Canadians.

The ideal candidate will be a leader within FHCP's sustainability department and will be directly involved in federal, provincial, and territorial regulatory and policy development. They will also be responsible for industry initiatives that influence the advancement of a circular economy, as well as improving environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Federal, provincial, and territorial regulatory and policy development.
  • Industry initiatives to advance a circular economy.
  • Improving environmental performance through data-driven solutions.

The successful candidate will be a strong leader and team player with expertise in regulatory affairs and sustainability.

Requirements:

  • A post-secondary degree in a relevant field, such as sustainability or environmental science.
  • 10 years of experience in regulatory affairs, sustainability, or ESG.
  • Direct experience in emissions reduction, circular economy, and Extended Producer Responsibility is an asset.
  • Experience within grocery, manufacturing, or recycling sectors, or within an environmental organization is beneficial.
  • A sound ability to understand and interpret technical documents.
  • Exceptional written communication skills to compile technical information for presentations and submissions.
  • A strong ability to perform effectively as an individual contributor as well as a collaborator within a team.
Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is between $120,000 and $180,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include a comprehensive package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a 401(k) matching program.
