About the Role

Rainbow Railroad is a global organization dedicated to advancing and protecting the human rights of LGBTQI+ individuals. We are seeking an exceptional leader to serve as our Chief Executive Officer (CEO), reporting to a Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization's programs, staff, and strategic plan to ensure sustainable, secure, and impactful growth.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with global partners, stakeholders, and donors to advance our mission.
  • Serve as a spokesperson and ambassador for Rainbow Railroad, promoting our work and values.
  • Empower a diverse team of staff and partners to deliver high-quality programs and services.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership and governance experience in a nonprofit environment, ideally with similar scope and scale.
  • Track record of empowering diverse teams and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to impact donors, policymakers, and the broader public.
  • Diplomatic and political skills, with a deep understanding of LGBTQI+ equality, human rights, and refugee resettlement.
