Job Description

We are seeking an HR Generalist Lead to join our team at the Store Support Centre (SSC). This role will partner with people leaders and employees to deliver business objectives through thoughtful, intentional, and innovative people support. The successful candidate will provide frontline counsel and guidance in all areas of talent management and resolve HR matters autonomously.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Toronto Distribution Center Campus
  • Work a day shift with some schedule flexibility, supporting stakeholders in a 24/7 business model
  • Provide effective and timely first-line HR support and counsel to employee and manager inquiries
  • Lead initiatives and projects impacting the employee experience within the Global Fulfillment network
  • Support Supervisors and Managers through coaching on performance management and improvement
  • Provide coaching and advice on career development, recruitment practices, and other HR practices
  • Advise on involuntary separation requests from managers
  • Prepare and administer termination notices and related documentation
  • Support accommodation request cases in partnership with the benefits team
  • Conduct exit interviews and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Monitor employee engagement and provide recommendations on action plans
  • Support operational workforce planning and hiring managers
  • Assist with annual people programs delivery
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies & procedures and relevant laws
  • Lead and conduct investigations regarding violations of company standards
  • Partner with People and Culture Advisor for people analytics reporting
  • Facilitate training for HR programs as required
  • Complete Workday people transactions and reporting in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of progressive generalist or relatable experience
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience leading or partnering on strategic people initiatives
  • Deep understanding of Federal, State, and Provincial Labor Law and employment equity regulations
  • Broadened HR knowledge and ability to facilitate HR advisory services
  • Passion for the employee experience and fostering connections
  • Strong organizational and conflict management skills
  • Negotiation and problem-solving skills with multitasking ability
  • Decision-making skills with a deep understanding of employee relations
  • Meticulous attention to detail and personal responsibility to see issues through resolution
