Merchandising Specialist

Job Summary
The University Health Network is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Merchandising Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Outpatient Pharmacy team, you will be responsible for maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring that our pharmacy is well-stocked and visually appealing.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain responsibility for ordering, receiving, and pricing prescription and non-prescription items for multi-site outpatient pharmacies
- Perform merchandising and cashier functions, including organizing revenue-generating promotions to attract customer interest
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner
- Coordinate the return of stale-dated merchandise and other products, ensuring that our pharmacy is always stocked with fresh and relevant items
- Communicate effectively with other Pharmacy personnel, including pharmacists, technicians, and management
- Perform technical functions in support of the Pharmacy, including assisting with packaging and sending prescription deliveries and reconciling invoices
- Perform cross-functional duties, within scope of authority, to support the overall success of the Pharmacy
Requirements
- Grade 12 or recognized equivalent
- One (1) year related merchandising experience, preferably in the healthcare industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Computer skills, including MS Word and basic Excel, an asset
- Knowledge of Pharmacy operations, practices, and regulations, including applicable legislation
- Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) requirements
- Compliance with established confidentiality requirements
- Satisfactory attendance
