Job Title: Utility Grounds Worker

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Utility Grounds Worker to join our team at School District #23 (Central Okanagan). This is a full-time continuing position that requires a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the grounds and inspecting and repairing playground equipment. This role may require working at various project locations and may involve operating small powered equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain grounds and inspect and repair playground equipment
  • Operate small powered equipment, such as lawn mowers and snow blowers
  • Perform landscaping and horticultural activities, including tree pruning and grass cutting
  • Ensure compliance with BC construction/maintenance safety requirements and WCB regulations
  • Hold a valid B.C. Class 3 Drivers License with Air Brake Endorsement
Requirements:
  • Grade 10 completion
  • Two years of experience in landscaping, installation, and maintenance of fencing and playground equipment
  • Knowledge of horticultural activities and Integrated Pest Management techniques
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
