We are seeking a skilled and experienced Utility Grounds Worker to join our team at School District #23 (Central Okanagan). This is a full-time continuing position starting as soon as possible.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining grounds and inspecting and repairing playground equipment. This position may require working at various project locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain grounds and inspect and repair playground equipment
  • Operate small powered equipment such as lawn mowers, snow blowers, and rototillers
  • Perform horticultural activities such as tree pruning, grass cutting, and Integrated Pest Management techniques
  • Ensure compliance with BC construction/maintenance safety requirements and WCB Regulation
  • Hold a valid B.C. Class 3 Drivers License with Air Brake Endorsement
Requirements:
  • Grade 10 completion
  • Two years of experience in landscaping, installation, and maintenance of fencing and playground equipment
  • Knowledge of horticultural activities and operation of small powered equipment
  • Demonstrated training and work experience in current BC construction/maintenance safety requirements and WCB Regulation
  • Valid B.C. Class 3 Drivers License with Air Brake Endorsement
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. They will be expected to possess the physical condition and health to carry out the required duties of this position.
