We are seeking an experienced Corporate Paralegal to join our team at KPMG Canada. As a member of our corporate law group, you will be actively involved in all stages of corporate files, working closely with partners, associates, paralegals, and administrative support to help our clients navigate the corporate life cycle and transactional mandates.
Key Responsibilities- Manage corporate records, including minute books, registers, and ledgers, and oversee the digitization of physical minute books.
- Prepare documents for corporate formations, amendments, continuances, amalgamations, and dissolutions.
- Support lawyers with legal and administrative duties, including monitoring corporate law filings and establishing direct client relationships.
- Maintain and contribute to precedent databases and manage communications with lawyers regarding various legal matters.
- Respond to complex requests for information related to corporate secretarial matters from clients.
- Perform online searches and manage corporate law filings, ensuring timely submissions of annual declarations and transactional filings.
- Certificate in Law or Paralegal Diploma with a combination of experience as a corporate law paralegal.
- A minimum of seven years' experience as a Paralegal, with experience in corporate transactional work.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe.
- Excellent organizational, follow-up, and time management skills, with attention to detail and proofreading accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to handle privileged and confidential information with sensitivity and discretion.
- Self-motivated to achieve high standards in all aspects of work.
- Proficient knowledge of English is required for the role.
