Strategic Benefits Consultant

We are seeking a seasoned benefits professional to join our team in the Toronto region.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in group benefits, with a strong focus on client relationships and business growth. Their primary responsibility will be to retain and grow existing client relationships, while identifying opportunities to expand our portfolio.
The successful candidate will be committed to delivering exceptional customer service, working collaboratively with internal teams to provide tailored solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing strategic consulting plans to drive client engagement and retention
- Identifying cross-sell opportunities that add value for our clients
- Reviewing plan performance and client files to understand claims trends and optimize benefits design
- Preparing market specifications for clients using both internal and external quoting systems
- Analyzing data and multiple carrier proposals to recommend the best option for our clients
- Facilitating finalist presentations as required and providing recommendations to clients
- Performing ad hoc investigations of claims data to explain trends to clients
- Working closely with analysts and underwriters to ensure seamless client experiences
- Providing technical and peer review work for analysts and other associates
- Coordinating new business implementation and ensuring timely delivery of client services
- Preparing documents for client presentations and meeting in person to deliver key information
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Business Administration (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in group benefits, with a client-facing focus
- Strong understanding of the group benefits industry, including funding arrangements
- A Life license is required
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a customer-centric mindset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Valid driver's license and consistent access to a vehicle
