Fraser Health is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Sterile Processing Technician. This role is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sterility of medical equipment and supplies in the Operating Room.
Key Responsibilities- Clean, decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and store medical equipment and supplies in a sterile environment.
- Disassemble, wash, clean, and reassemble anaesthetic equipment according to established procedures.
- Pick and transport surgical supplies and equipment to the Operating Room as required.
- Maintain the cleanliness of sterilizers, sterile core, and instrument room.
- Distribute medical equipment and supplies according to established procedures.
- Participate in the Departmental Quality Assurance Program by performing routine maintenance on departmental equipment.
- Transport specimens and patients as required.
- Perform clerical duties such as recording workload statistics and maintaining records.
- Grade 12 education and completion of a Sterile Supply Processing Program.
- One year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology.
- Mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to communicate effectively and deal with others.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
