Job Description

As a Store Operations Manager at The North West Company Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our stores. This position involves implementing company standards, safeguarding assets, and developing staff.

Purpose of the Role

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the operational aspects of our stores, including customer service, office management, and loss prevention initiatives. You will work closely with the store management team to foster positive customer relationships and support the overall vision of the company.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Customer Service Excellence

    You will be responsible for prioritizing and delivering exceptional customer service, building strong relationships with customers. This includes monitoring and adjusting service levels as required to meet customer needs, quickly addressing complaints and inquiries, and ensuring an enjoyable shopping experience for all customers.

  2. Office & Front End/Customer Service Management

    You will oversee customer credit details and manage receivables, including follow-ups on delinquent accounts. Additionally, you will support and participate in Financial Service Programs, ensure maintenance and operation of all POS equipment, supervise Post Office operations where applicable, and schedule cashiers efficiently.

  3. Daily Operating Disciplines

    You will verify and cross-check all daily financial reports, troubleshooting any discrepancies. You will also ensure safe practices, maintain full lock on safes, and accurate cash handling. Furthermore, you will ensure adequate cash flow for daily business transactions.

  4. Staff Training and Development

    You will ensure staff provide outstanding customer service in the Office, Post Office, and Front End. You will participate as a key member of the store management team, providing leadership and support. You will work with supervisors to recruit, train, and develop staff in the Office, Front End, and Post Office.

  5. Employee Accountability

    You will work effectively and with full commitment to assigned tasks. You will maintain a strong customer focus and understand customer needs. You will demonstrate passion and conviction in delivering great work, provide best advice to the manager, identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement, and stay within company policies.

Estimated Salary

$60,000 - $80,000 per year
