Job Title: Senior Communications Specialist

At Doctors of BC, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our communications department, you will be responsible for developing and executing advanced communication strategies to support our organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive communications strategies across various platforms.
  • Collaborate with departmental teams and committees to ensure alignment with broader organizational goals.
  • Provide expert advice on managing complex, high-visibility issues and crises.
  • Assist with media relations inquiries and key messages.
  • Oversee responses to unprecedented issues and coordinate with relevant teams for cohesive communication and damage control.
  • Direct the creation of diverse content that engages internal and external audiences.
  • Evaluate content performance and audience engagement to inform future content strategies.
  • Act as a communications expert within the organization, providing guidance and oversight to various teams.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to enhance communications skills across the organization.
  • Explore and integrate new communications technologies and platforms to enhance our reach and engagement with diverse audiences.
Requirements:
  • A post-secondary degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of practical experience in advanced communications roles.
  • Advanced skills in digital communication tools and platforms.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing social media strategies.
  • Strong writing and content creation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze communication metrics and KPIs.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
