The Completion Specialist role at National Oilwell Varco in Grande Prairie, Alberta, involves overseeing and installing NOV Completion Tools equipment at customer job sites. This position requires strong technical knowledge of downhole tools, liner hangers, packers, stage tools, annulus casing packers, and coil tools. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years' experience in conventional completion and coil tools, and will be able to perform hydraulic calculations, including displacements, capacities, buoyancies, and pressures. The role also requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
  1. Job Preparation and Execution: Supervise all aspects of job preparation, tool assembly, deployment, and installation to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
  2. Problem Identification and Resolution: Identify possible problems in running equipment and communicate with the customer and NOV Operations to resolve any issues.
  3. Pre-Installation Checks: Ensure that all possible preparations have been carried out, equipment is fit for use, and all pre-installation checks have been completed, as well as ensuring that all documentation is accurate and accounted for.
  4. Installation and Testing: Oversee the installation of all equipment at customer job sites and perform testing to ensure that all equipment is functioning correctly.
  5. Customer Communication: Maintain appropriate contact with the customer representative at the well-site.
  6. Reporting and Documentation: Produce in-depth reports of all well-site activities prior to and during installation, and accurately complete installation reports, schematics, and field tickets.
  7. Hydraulic Calculations: Perform hydraulic calculations, including displacements, capacities, buoyancies, and pressures, and record on schematics and reports.
  8. Day-to-Day Activities: Demonstrate availability and be fit for work during on-call rotation, and perform day-to-day shop activities when required.
Qualification Requirements:
  1. Experience and Knowledge: Minimum of five years' experience in conventional completion and coil tools, and extensive technical knowledge of downhole tools, liner hangers, packers, stage tools, annulus casing packers, and coil tools.
  2. Technical Skills: Understanding of NOV Completion Tools – operation, rebuild, and teardown processes, as well as the ability to perform hydraulic calculations, including displacements, capacities, buoyancies, and pressures.
  3. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  4. Education and Certifications: Must have experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  5. Location: Must live in the Grande Prairie area.
  6. HSE Requirements: Must submit to a Physical Test, have a Clean Drivers Abstract, and meet all applicable Field Service on-site ticket requirements as per HSE Manager and client requirements.
