About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic - Experienced to join our team at 0050 United Rentals of Canada, Inc. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on complex equipment with limited or no supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools, utilizing a high degree of independent judgment.

  • Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer-owned equipment, ensuring service vehicles are maintained in a clean and professional manner.

  • Assist in the training of lower-level technicians as needed.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of work performed, including electronic records and paperwork.

  • Assist with the pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

  • At least 5 years of experience repairing and maintaining equipment and tools.

  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.

  • Extensive knowledge of construction equipment, including schematics and diagrams.

  • Must own tools applicable to the position.

  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.

  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
