Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a Patient Service Associate to join our team. As a key member of our nutrition and food services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive high-quality meals and services.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for preparing and serving patient meals, as well as cleaning and sanitizing patient trays and equipment. Additionally, you will be required to answer patient phone calls and enter meal selections into the computer system.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work independently and as part of a team to provide excellent service to our patients. You will be expected to maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols.

We offer a competitive salary of $19.26-$20.02 per hour, plus 11% in lieu of benefits. This is a casual relief position with a 3% allocation, which means you will have the flexibility to work variable hours based on our needs.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Patient Meal Selections: Answer patient phone calls and enter meal selections into the computer system.
  • Product/Food Preparation/Assembly and Service: Prepare and serve patient meals, as well as clean and sanitize patient trays and equipment.
  • Delivery and Collection: Deliver patient meals and supplies, and collect soiled patient trays.
  • Food Handling: Participate in receiving and storing supplies, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Grade 12/GED or equivalent
  • Demonstrated competency in English and basic math
  • Restaurant experience considered an asset
  • Customer Service Skills considered an asset
