Job Title: Retail Store Supervisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Retail Store Supervisor to join our team at Granite Warehouse Inc. in a permanent position.

Job Summary:

The Retail Store Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our retail store, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a high level of sales performance. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assign sales workers to duties and ensure they are equipped to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Hire and train or arrange for training of staff to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their job duties.
  • Authorize payments by cheque and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Order merchandise and manage inventory levels to meet customer demand.
  • Establish work schedules and ensure that all staff are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Sell merchandise and maintain a high level of sales performance.
  • Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters to inform business decisions.
  • Resolve issues that may arise, including customer complaints and supply shortages.
  • Organize and maintain inventory to ensure that stock levels are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a retail or supervisory role.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to motivate and direct staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy loads and stand for long periods.
Work Environment:

The Retail Store Supervisor will work in a fast-paced retail environment with a high level of customer interaction. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve sales targets and maintain a positive work environment.
