Job Summary

ATL Heavy Haul Inc is seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods across the country, working as part of a two-person team or convoy. This is a permanent position with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Safely: Operate a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods across the country, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Load and Unload Goods: Safely load and unload goods at designated locations, using proper lifting techniques to avoid injury.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage.
  • Emergency Repairs: Perform emergency roadside repairs to ensure the vehicle is safe to operate.
  • Inspections: Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, and record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Cargo Security: Ensure the safety and security of cargo by tarping and securing it properly.
Requirements
  • Driver's License: Possess a valid Class 1 or A driver's license.
  • Language: Fluent in English.
  • Travel: Willing to travel cross-border, for extended periods, and internationally.
  • Work Conditions: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with repetitive tasks, sitting for long periods, and attention to detail.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral communication, flexibility, organization, reliability, and teamwork skills.
