Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Paramjit's Kitchen. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food preparation and service.
Key Responsibilities- Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units to maintain a high level of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Dishwashing: Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware, and sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand as needed.
- Food Preparation: Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items, such as portioning and wrapping foods, and packaging take-out food.
- Inventory Management: Keep records of the quantities of food used and receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
- Housekeeping: Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment, and sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.
- Waste Management: Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and handle and store cleaning products.
- Fast-Paced Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Physical Demands: Stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and work under pressure.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and service.
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but a willingness to learn and train is essential.
- Language: English is the primary language spoken in the kitchen, and proficiency in English is required.
- Availability: Availability to work a 40-hour week is required, with overtime as needed.
