About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Kitchen Helper at Paramjit's Kitchen. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food preparation and service areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces are cleaned and sanitized to the highest standards.
    • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware, and ensure they are properly stored.
    • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand, as required.
  • Food Preparation and Handling
    • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items, such as soups, salads, and sandwiches.
    • Portion and wrap foods, and package take-out items for customers.
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
  • Housekeeping and Maintenance
    • Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
    • Handle and store cleaning products, and ensure they are used in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
    • Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and ensure the kitchen is kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • Other Duties
    • Assist with food preparation and service during peak periods.
    • Perform other duties as required by management.
    Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
    • This is a fast-paced environment, and you must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
    • You will be required to stand for extended periods, and may be required to lift heavy loads.
    • Overtime may be required, and you must be able to work flexible hours as needed.
    Personal Suitability
    • You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
    • You must be reliable, efficient, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • You must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
