About This Role:

Cci Group of Companies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced project engineer to join our team. As a project engineer, you will be responsible for managing project teams to successful completion of all project deliverables, related documents, and coordination of project requirements. This includes designing, conducting calculations, drafting documents, and completing cost estimates in accordance with industry and company codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the successful execution of engineering projects.
  • Meeting project deadlines and quality requirements.
  • Maintaining effective working relationships with clients, contractors, staff, and other employees.
  • Assisting with the completion of various project deliverables, including DBMs, cost estimates, project schedules, engineered drawings, specifications, and datasheets.
  • Quality control and checking.
  • Technical coordination with various disciplines, both internal and external.
  • Maintaining and growing a working knowledge of applicable design codes and standards, including CSA Z662, ASME B31.3/4/8, and PRCI PR-277-144507.
  • Assisting with business development proposals and studies as required, including occasional presentations or attendance at industry conferences.
  • Occasional travel to site for information gathering, as-building, pipeline route walkdowns, commissioning activities, or troubleshooting tasks.
  • Assisting in developing and standardizing templates and commonly issued project documents/calculations to improve overall efficiency of company operations.
  • Coordinating department resources as needed, including 3rd party subcontractors and vendors where applicable.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited university (civil, mechanical, or geotechnical preferred).
  • Registered as a professional engineer with APEGA (additional PE licensing considered an asset).
  • 5+ years' experience in a related field; construction and/or field experience is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge in piping codes (CSA, ASME, PRCI, API).
  • Knowledge in design of pipeline and facility systems.
  • Experience in managing small to mid-size projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • An excellent communicator and team player, able to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment with a positive attitude.
  • Detail-oriented, meticulous, and have strong organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take additional responsibilities.
  • Quality and safety-oriented mindset.

Assets:

  • AutoCAD, Excel, PipeFlo software knowledge.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in trenchless design.
  • Professional licensure with other provincial associations (EGBC, PEO, etc.) is a benefit.
  • Safety training courses required to work in the field in Alberta and BC is a benefit. On-the-job training will be provided as needed.
