Motive, a studio within Electronic Arts, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Artist to join our team. As a Senior Technical Artist, you will play a critical role in the development of our AAA games, working closely with Art teams and other departments to ensure the highest quality of art and technical performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to Art teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication between departments.
  • Develop and maintain best practices, quality bars, pipelines, and processes to drive efficiency and quality in game development.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and technologies, adapting and implementing new processes to address production constraints.
  • Troubleshoot and prioritize artist issues with tools and art creation workflows, working closely with engineers to resolve technical challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solid working relationships and effective communication.
  • Provide clear guidance on technical performance constraints, maintain assets, and help define asset budgets.
  • Contribute to project-level discussions, working with developers in all disciplines to build a great game and a great development experience.
  • Promote and build an inclusive work environment, fostering a culture of empathy and respect.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the games industry, with a strong background in Technical Art and at least one AAA shipped title.
  • In-depth expertise in 3D and 2D software packages, including Maya, Photoshop, and Zbrush.
  • Strong understanding of pipelines, asset optimization, and content creation best practices.
  • Ability to own challenging issues and find practical solutions, working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of game engines, art integration, and technical restraints.
  • Experience addressing game performance and optimization, with a passion for making and playing games.
