About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef Lead to join our culinary team at THE PORT HOUSE. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, and maintaining high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Culinary Leadership: Supervise and train a team of cooks to prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events and regular menu items.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with chefs to develop new recipes and menus that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels, manage stockroom, and ensure that all ingredients are stored properly.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Enforce strict cleanliness and safety protocols in the kitchen, including adhering to health and safety regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a sous chef or senior cook in a commercial kitchen environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure.
