About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wildfire Crew Leader to join our team at the Prince George Fire Centre. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in executing fire suppression and hazard plans, ensuring crews are effectively mobilized in incident response.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in forest fire management, with experience in leading crews on the fireline and in day-to-day fieldwork. You will be responsible for collaborating with professionals in wildfire prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery, and will have a direct impact on keeping communities safe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead crews on the fireline and in day-to-day fieldwork
  • Execute fire suppression and hazard plans
  • Ensure crews are effectively mobilized in incident response
  • Collaborate with professionals in wildfire prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • 2 seasons forest fire related experience
  • First Aid Ticket OFA Level 1 with Transportation Endorsement
  • Successful completion of New Recruit Boot Camp or Agency Equivalent
  • Successfully complete pre-employment fitness standard
  • Maintain personal weights standards as required for crew type
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • Attended BC Wildfire Provincial Crew Leader training or agency equivalent
  • Prior Supervisory experience
  • Prior Fireline Supervisory experience
  • Incident Commander 5 certification or higher
  • Previous BC Wildfire Crew Leader experience
  • Single Resource Leader 1 certification or higher
  • Higher education in Resource Management or related field
  • Experience delivering education or training to adult audiences
  • Qualified Faller Assessor, Trainer, or industry equivalent
