About the Role

The Sales Representative for Used Machinery is a critical position that drives business growth by developing an external network of used machinery resellers in Canada, the United States, and Europe. This role focuses primarily on establishing relationships with machinery dealers and wholesalers. The representative will utilize available technological tools and persuasion skills to maximize sales, ensuring that profit margins and inventory turnover meet company objectives. Additionally, the representative will be involved in evaluating asset values and become an expert in assessing the market value of machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop key dealers and wholesalers in Canada, the United States, and Europe.
  • Prioritize sales and accelerate inventory turnover by selling within a maximum of 90 days, ideally within 30 days, and maintain a low inventory value of up to $2 million.
  • Customize offers based on the specific needs of dealers, presenting Manulift as a preferred partner.
  • Present the features of the model, available options, accessories, and the mechanical and aesthetic condition of the machinery.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing partners by referring to the action matrix.
  • Define necessary follow-up actions for each potential sale.
  • Negotiate sale terms and obtain signed contracts, then transmit sale details to the Equipment Coordination Team.
  • Ensure post-sale follow-up to guarantee customer satisfaction and regularly update partner information in the CRM.
  • Identify available client assets that can generate new machine sales.
  • Periodically evaluate partner performance and meet sales and key performance indicator (KPI) objectives.
  • Maximize profit margins in accordance with established standards.
Requirements and Desired Skills
  • Experience in selling heavy machinery, particularly in the agricultural, industrial, and construction sectors.
  • Proven ability to prospect and develop a network of partners.
  • Previous experience in reselling used machinery.
  • Ability to establish strong relationships quickly.
  • Effective planning skills to optimize productivity.
  • Persevering and competitive.
  • Autonomy and resourcefulness.
  • Organization, rigor, and ease with numbers.
  • Proficiency in French and English (bilingual) or excellent English proficiency.
  • Knowledge of mechanics or one of the targeted markets is an asset.
