- Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled carpenter to join our team at Absolute Contracting, responsible for various aspects of construction, including building foundations, installing floor beams, and erecting walls and roof systems.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Survey building locations and levels
- Instruct apprentices
- Supervise other workers
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
- Requirements:
- 1 to 2 years of experience in the field
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Able to work at heights, in noisy and dusty environments
- Valid driver's licence and own vehicle
- Steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses/goggles and safety vest
