Job Summary:

We are seeking a Medical Consultant to join our team at WCB Alberta. As a Medical Consultant, you will play a critical role in guiding the best medical care for Albertans injured on the job.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical opinions and speak with treating physicians to guide recovery
  • Manage musculoskeletal injuries with a background in general practice, sports medicine, or emergency medicine
  • Collaborate with the WCB team and external clinicians to improve patient treatment access and recovery outcomes
  • Understand the impact of psychosocial issues on recovery
  • Meet the qualifications listed below

Qualifications:

  • Experience in diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal injury
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively
  • Understanding of the impact of psychosocial issues on recovery
  • Registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta with no conditions on practice permit
