Job Summary

As a Food Service Supervisor at BC Cancer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care through the management of food service operations. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety, quality control, and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Food Service Operations

  • Supervise and coordinate food service activities to ensure efficient and effective delivery of patient meals.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.
  • Develop and implement effective food service policies and procedures to meet patient needs.

Patient Care

  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure patient meal preferences and dietary requirements are met.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to address food-related concerns.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of patient-centered care initiatives.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage a team of food service staff to achieve operational excellence.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to staff.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct regular quality audits to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to address quality and safety concerns.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify opportunities for process improvements.

  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance knowledge and skills in food service management.
  • Stay current with industry developments, trends, and best practices.
