Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our New Flyer team. As a key member of our New Product Development Team, you will be responsible for the direct supervision, coordination, and performance of assigned engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead assigned projects with focus on scope and requirements definition, risk management, reporting, coordinating key project activities, progress tracking, change management, testing and validation coordination, and budget adherence.
  • Ensure all project elements are completed as planned.
  • Prepare data and create technical and financial reports on project status, including completed and outstanding work, in accordance with the defined reporting structure.
  • Establish effective communication, cooperation, and information flow with other Engineering Groups and departments for project coordination and execution.
  • Provide support for the engineering release process as required.
  • Schedule and facilitate required project design reviews and applicable FMEA and hazard analysis.
  • Interpret customer specifications, technical summaries, vendor quotations, and other contract documents to ensure compliance and participate in design reviews.
  • Interact with vendors and customers on design-related issues and ensure, where applicable, documented Supplier Application Approval on new installations or applications.
  • Provide engineering support to Sales (bid support), Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, and other departments as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma, or equivalent.
  • Registered (or eligible to be registered) as a Professional Engineer or Certified Engineering Technologist.
  • Five or more years of design-related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous leadership or Project Management experience is required.
  • A working knowledge of bus mechanical and electrical functions and systems.
  • Ability to converse in a professional manner with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills using creativity, critical thinking, and reasoning.
