About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Specialty Site Lead for Aberdeen Regional Hospital in the Northern Zone. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of patient care is maintained by the medical staff, in accordance with the law, the Bylaws, the Rules and Regulations, licensing and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure medical staff compliance with NSHA Bylaws and Rules and Regulations.
  2. Represent the Department's interests at the Zone Executive Director and/or Zone Department Head level.
  3. Lead Emergency Preparedness activities as Physician Lead.
  4. Manage site overcapacity issues from the Department's perspective.
  5. Ensure service continuity through Department scheduling practices.
  6. Chair regular department meetings and attend other committee meetings as required.
  7. Monitor standards, quality, and utilization of resources of the Department in the zone.
  8. Participate in clinical services planning for the Department.
  9. Participate in respectful workplace responsibilities as needed.
  10. Participate in recruitment/retention activities for the Department.
  11. Participate in new hire and onboarding processes as needed.
  12. Lead the incident review process for the site.
Eligibility
  • MD licensed in Nova Scotia and privileged with Nova Scotia Health.
  • Evidence of past and ongoing leadership training.

Annual Compensation: $10,000
