Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Specialty Site Lead for Aberdeen Regional Hospital in the Northern Zone. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of patient care is maintained by the medical staff, in accordance with the law, the Bylaws, the Rules and Regulations, licensing and accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure medical staff compliance with NSHA Bylaws and Rules and Regulations.
- Represent the Department's interests at the Zone Executive Director and/or Zone Department Head level.
- Lead Emergency Preparedness activities as Physician Lead.
- Manage site overcapacity issues from the Department's perspective.
- Ensure service continuity through Department scheduling practices.
- Chair regular department meetings and attend other committee meetings as required.
- Monitor standards, quality, and utilization of resources of the Department in the zone.
- Participate in clinical services planning for the Department.
- Participate in respectful workplace responsibilities as needed.
- Participate in recruitment/retention activities for the Department.
- Participate in new hire and onboarding processes as needed.
- Lead the incident review process for the site.
- MD licensed in Nova Scotia and privileged with Nova Scotia Health.
- Evidence of past and ongoing leadership training.
Annual Compensation: $10,000
