About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Aquatic Ecologist to join our Environmental Department in Sudbury. As part of our team, you will be responsible for designing and performing effective aquatic habitat and biota surveys, as well as assessing project impacts on Natural Heritage features and preparing mitigation strategies.



Job Description


The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Ecology, Biology, or a related field, with 7-10 years of experience working in a related role. You will need to demonstrate proficiency in statistical analytical tools, such as R, and have applied knowledge of fish and fish habitat. Additionally, you should have experience conducting fish community and population assessments, as well as supervising and directing junior technical staff.



Responsibilities



  1. Design and perform effective aquatic habitat and aquatic biota surveys
  2. Assess project impacts on Natural Heritage features and prepare mitigation strategies
  3. Coordinate, supervise, and conduct fish and fish habitat project work
  4. Manage and coordinate projects, proposals, and permitting applications as a technical lead or project manager
  5. Interpret field data to prepare quality, accurate, and technically sound reports
  6. Review technical documents, reports, and other deliverables prepared by colleagues

Tulloch offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, and a company pension plan.
