Job Overview

Tulloch Engineering is a reputable consulting engineering firm with a strong presence in Canada.

We are seeking an experienced Fisheries Technician to join our Environmental Department based in Sudbury.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct biophysical surveys in various environments alongside aquatic and terrestrial field biologists.
  • Record and summarize field data under diverse conditions, including inclement weather.
  • Perform fish community structure and population assessments using sampling methods.
  • Support fish health evaluations and collect environmental samples.
  • Maintain and calibrate field equipment, such as electrofishing gear and water testing kits.
  • Compile data from the field and lab into comprehensive reports.
Requirements
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • Flora and fauna identification skills, including plants, birds, reptiles, mammals, and fish.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting aquatic field biophysical surveys.
  • Experience with terrestrial field biophysical surveys is an asset.
  • RAQS certification for Fisheries Assessment or Natural Sciences is an asset.
  • Certification in Ecological Lands Classification and the Ontario Wetland Evaluation System is an asset.
  • High motivation, results-oriented focus, and superior organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills, excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Unwavering commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
