Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join our Governance, Risk, and Compliance Services team in Canada. As a Senior Consultant, you will play a key role in providing expert advice to clients on governance, risk management, and compliance matters. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the planning, execution, and reporting of various governance, risk management, and control engagements with our Financial Services clients;
  • Interviewing clients to understand their current compliance, risk management, and control programs, and documenting the current state and evaluating against past experiences and insights into leading practices;
  • Identifying key risk management, compliance, and control mechanisms, and developing programs to test and evaluate these;
  • Conducting testing activities independently, and clearly documenting testing efforts and results;
  • Drafting reports to summarize the results of testing and evaluation efforts;
  • Mentoring, driving, and reviewing the quality of work prepared by other team members;
  • Supporting Managers in managing project timelines, quality, budget, as well as client relationships;
  • Delivering multiple simultaneous client engagements of varying size, scope, and complexity;
  • Engaging with cross-functional engagement teams comprised of diverse backgrounds and skill sets;
  • Assisting with business development efforts such as proposals, marketing materials, internal and external presentations.

What We Offer

As a Senior Consultant with KPMG Canada, you can expect a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on your experience and qualifications. Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in internal controls, compliance, internal audit, or risk management across operational, compliance, or reporting domains;
  • Expertise in Financial Services (i.e., banking, wealth/asset management, insurance, fintech, etc.);
  • A strong understanding of the Canadian Financial Sector regulatory landscape (e.g., OSFI, FINTRAC, CIRO, FSRA);
  • Risk management, controls, internal audit related designation;
  • Experience in effectively contributing to a team;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • The ability to adapt methodologies and techniques to unique circumstances;
  • Self-motivation and willingness to ask probing questions to uncover client opportunities.
