Medical Director

The Medical Director - Port Alberni is a key leadership position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality medical services. As a co-leader, this individual will work closely with other stakeholders to drive continuous quality improvement and ensure that services are efficient, effective, and integrated across Island Health sites.
Main Responsibilities- Leadership: Collaborate with the Executive Medical Director and Executive Director to provide strategic direction and oversight for medical services.
- Operations and Quality: Develop and implement processes to engage physicians and staff in quality improvement initiatives, monitor program budget and performance, and ensure the resolution of patient safety and quality issues.
- Change Management: Co-develop and implement change management plans to support physicians and staff through organizational changes.
- Informatics: Oversee the advancement of technology and data use to improve service delivery, working closely with the Quality Systems team.
- Planning: Assess, monitor, and anticipate program resource needs, working with medical and administrative leaders to prioritize these needs within available resources.
